Crafted from light georgette and satin silk, artfully designed to flatter the form, the Emperor dress fuses two distinct aesthetics to striking effect — combining delicate Chantilly lace and dot tulle with a riotous kaleidoscopic print. A modern take on the demure elements of twenties eveningwear: a neat high neck fastens at the back with a bow, a yoke and billowing caplet sleeves cascade over the shoulders, cinched at the waist to create a sleek A-line.
The standout Emperor story showcases the collection's central print: a tessellating wing motif with a photomontage feel and 20th century avant-garde influence, evoking the unconventional Dada-ist movement. Encapsulating the theme of metamorphosis and masterfully elevating the distinct silhouettes, with hand-beaded embellishment adding intrigue and dimension, creating three impactful forever pieces.
The artwork is meticulously engineered for composition, scale and seamless flow: designed exclusively in-house, draped onto toile and placed on full-scale garment patterns, then hand-embroidered by artisans.

Process
Temperley prints are painstakingly hand-painted in-house. Motifs are collaged onto the body then lovingly engineered into compositions that work in harmony with the garment’s panelling, ensuring the printed fabric flows flawlessly across seam joints when the garment is constructed. The process is both meticulous and spontaneous, with an outcome that is truly unique and artisanal.
Materials
Committed to creating unique and original textiles, the Temperley team designs lace and woven fabrics in-house at our atelier, which are then crafted by our trusted partners at expert mills across the globe. We utilise best quality Italian tulle, soft and sheer, perfectly structured with a flawless drape. Another staple material includes luxurious silk, woven to create a lustrous effect, with a smooth and radiant finish, perfect for eveningwear.
